Update on Finnegan (formerly Gus)...he and Micky are having a blast together...he is an incredible cuddle bug, and getting into shape as Micky (our other doodle) loves to run - we make daily trips to a huge park that abuts the coast - not keen on the ocean -- 'it moves' and he cannot figure out how to deal with something that is clear and moves.  Micky is trying to encourage him gently by running into it with the ball in his mouth and just standing a few feet inside the tide (yes, I know it is also a tease as Micky knows Finnegan is not keen on the water yet).  I've attached a few photos - one with Finnegan having adopted one of Micky's toys; Jim and 'the boys' asleep (Finn will share the futon from time to time)...thank you DRC for a lovely dog!  Jim and 'the boys'IMG_0482.JPG

Update on Ziva:

Ziva is thriving and loving life in her forever home. She weighs about 50 pounds and loves to romp with Max and Dudley. She is totally attached to Roger and never leaves his side. She has finally warmed up to me, but is still skittish when anyone else approaches. We are keeping her trimmed fairly short due to matting. She is mostly black with some wild white hairs here and there and tufts of brown mixed in. She is a lover and seems to be very comfortable with us.

It's so good to hear that Fitz is doing so well and bringing so much happiness to your family! It sure looks like he's living the good life now!

Follow up on Fitz (aka Scottie- one of the Three Amigos):

We call him the "Entertainer" - he keeps us laughing all the time. The photo with my DH is one of his rare restful moments. He IS a snug-a-bug and must have his morning hugs & kisses before anyone can do anything else. For the past 2 months he's been going to Choo Choo Doggie Day Camp once a week where he's been chosen as the Best Dog of the Day on two occasions. He is still anxious around strangers, and the wonderful folks at the doggie day camp have been a great support.

We love our Fitz and cannot imagine life without him!

Thanks so much for the photos and the update, Lynn! It's so great to see how happy Molly is with you and Sadie and what a wonderful home you've given her!
Lynn in Wisconsin Comment by Lynn in Wisconsin on December 28, 2010 at 10:13pm

Just wanted to update on Molly, my doodle I adopted from DRC in Jan 2010.  This was her first Christmas with us and here are a couple of pictures of her and Sadie.  Molly on the left and Sadie on the right with their presents.

Playing tug-o-war outside in the snow, one of their favorite games.

She loves to run and play in the snow

Looks like the tug-o-war was a draw!

Sadie and I are very happy that Molly came to live with us.  My two girls get along very well and love to play together.

Happy New Year to all.

Thanks, Sarah...I knew your family was the perfect fit for Sasha! Glad that she is thriving with you :)
Sarah Comment by Sarah on November 15, 2010 at 9:50am
We learned of doodles when we found a lost boy and kept him until we found his owner. Of course, we fell in love with him and immediately started searching for one of our own. We were willing to travel to pick one up. The search led us to Sasha. Amazingly enough, she was being foster by Tracy Farmer only minutes from our house! My husband, myself and our two boys went to meet her and it was love at first sight. Sasha has been with us a week today and she is already settled in. We feel like our family is complete and feel so blessed to have been introduced to the world of doodles. Who knew there was a perfect dog? LOL!
This organization and Tracy are wonderful! I will continue to recommend to everyone I meet.
Jane, Guinness & Murphy Comment by Jane, Guinness & Murphy on June 13, 2010 at 7:48pm
I just saw Murph's DRC picture and story and it brought back so many memories. It was March 5th that Jacquie sent me the email saying that he could be ours if we were interested. Interested....OMG I was bouncing off the walls. I will never forget that Friday night. I never slept one wink. We spent Saturday getting everything we would need to bring him home, and on Sunday we went to NJ to meet our new baby Dood. We had a one year old Doodle (Guinness) and the two of them cuddled up together in the back seat the whole way home, and they've been buddies and great Irish brothers ever since. I look at this picture and I just can't even believe he was ever this small. He weighed 10 pounds...now he weighs 40. He was a sweet, quiet little guy...now he's a rowdy goofball. That was only a little over three months ago...how could this be? You can only imagine Guinness's surprise that his "baby brother" now weighs more than twice as much as he does (Guinness is a "mini"). I will forever be grateful for the DRC for bringing this amazing guy into our lives. He is a laugh a minute, especially now that he's developed this quirky personality. It took him a little while to feel safe and to fully trust us, but those days are over and now "he is running things around here". Jacquie, thanks for posting this and bringing back all those special memories. Three months...it's like he's always been part of our lives.
